STEPS TO BEGIN A GROUP

STEPS TO BEGIN A GROUP

  • Pray ― about your call; for another Mom / Grandmother to join you, about her call; about all the details.
  • Identify yourself to the school ― Ask the Headmaster for permission to pray in the school. Then assure them that this is a support group; find a contact person in the school, as you want to pray about real, not perceived, issues.
  • Contact your MWC area coordinator or the MWC regional coordinator to let them know where you are praying. Become accountable to the coordinator in your area. This really helps us to be in relationship with each other and to help iron out niggles in a group. The enemy tries to bring confusion when we try to work independantly and we become a soft target if we work in isolation. We all need each other in the Body and this is God’s way of growing The Kingdom of God together.
  • Affirm through action ― look for ways to express support, to address negative situations and suggest positive alternatives. Make contact with Christian staff members and teachers’ prayer groups.
  • Persevere ― meet weekly, pray about issues; focus on God. Use the ACTS format. Although prayer cannot be reduced to a formula there are foundational elements to be included in our communication and walk with God: ADORATION, CONFESSION, THANKSGIVING and SUPPLICATION.
  • Pray in unity according to scripture; pray conversationally about issues; pray believing.
  • Journal what the Lord is sharing with you. Write down the scriptures He lays on your heart as well as the pictures or visions He gives. Keep a record of your prayer points as well as the victories He brings.
  • Watch for results and be thankful ― God hears and answers our prayers.
